Mission
The Utah Arts Alliance mission is to foster the arts in its
many forms, to provide venues to facilitate the arts, to provide
programming and support for arts and education, to provide
a central organization committed to networking and support
of Utah’s non-profit arts and educational groups and
to provide support and services to Utah’s artists and
students.
The Utah Arts Alliance is a federally recognized non-profit
arts and educational organization and is registered with the
state of Utah as a non-profit organization.
The UAA maintains a 501c3 tax-exempt status with the IRS.
The Utah Arts Alliance has three locations:
1.
The Utah Center for Arts is located at 2191 South 300 West.
The Center hosts art exhibits from renowned and emerging artists
with over 9000 sq ft. of exhibition space. The UAA also hosts
poetry readings, independent film screenings, live music,
dance performances, plays and more.
Programs at the center include:
The Center Gallery with monthly exhibitions.
Artist Studios for Photographers, Painters, Sculptors, Musicians
and Actors.
Salt Lake Capoeira, Brazilian Martial Arts and Cultural Organization.
SLC Photo Club, the UAA’s free group for photographers.
Kashmir Dance Company.
Middle Eastern Dance Group with Raffa.
ATG Theater Company performance stage.
Salsa Dancing Socials on Saturday nights.
Music Classes.
Salt Lake Slam Masters Poetry.
Incendiary Circus, Fire Dancing Group, with free lessons bi-weekly.
Modern Dance and Movement classes for adults and kids.
The Center Stage, hosts productions from community and touring
theater groups.
2. The
UAA Main Street Center Located at 127 South Main Street SLC
opened in March 2007 and houses the new UAA Gallery, Contemporary
Design and Art Gallery, Odyssey Dance Theater Offices, UAA
Music Recording Studios (to open June 2007) and ceramics and
painting studios.
3. The
UAA Studios at 625 South 600 West to open fall 2007 will provide
artist studio space, room for workshops and classes. The UAA
will also start the Arts and Animation program in partnership
with Lumenas Animation studios that will provide educational
programs to the public about traditional and new media arts,
including film and animation arts.
The UAA
also provides a central organization committed to advocacy,
networking and support of Utah’s non-profit arts and
educational groups. We believe that working together the cultural
community is stronger and by sharing resources we can better
provide services to the residents of Utah. UAA Affiliate member
groups share in our vision for Salt Lake County and have joined
with us to create a strong alliance.
